Develop the previous skills further through new techinques, pick up objects through submersion and to swim 15 metres.
CRITERIA for STAGE THREE
At this stage children learn safe entries into the water including submersion, travelling on front and back to 10 metres, water safety knowledge and rotation skills.

Before they can progress to the next stage they must be able to:

Jump in from poolside and submerge (min depth 0.9m) and swim off

Sink, push away from wall on side and maintain a streamlined position

Push and glide on the front with arms extended and log roll onto the back

Push and glide on the back with arms extended and log roll onto the front

Travel on the front, tuck to rotate around the horizontal axis to return on the back.

Fully submerge to pick up an object

Answer correctly three question on the Water Safety Code

Swim 15m on the back

Swim 25m arms out of the water with face in water
