The Trust became Registered Charity 1174631 in November 2017.
The Trust was initially formed following closure plans by the Isle of Wight Council a decade ago.

The Trust was able to save the pool and continue serving the Island Community, especially the town of Ryde and North East part of the Island.

OUR AIMS
The Waterside Community Trust provides recreational and leisure facilities for the residents of Ryde and its surrounding area. The Trust aims to be of benefit to all members of society whatever their age, infirmity, disablement, social or economic circumstances as well as the public at large in the interest of social welfare and the improvement of life for the local population.

TRUSTEES
The Trustees work without any payment and commit many hours each week to ensure the smooth running of the entire site including the swimming pool, splash park, canoe lake and Captain's Table restaurant.
Under our constitution as a charity we have a rotating Chairman for the Waterside Community Trust and this position changes each year following our year end. The Chairman are Mark Haslam and Andre Kurowski.

1994 | Taken over by Isle of Wight County Council.
2010 | IWCC Announces Closure
2011 | Waterside Community Trust Bid to Operate Pool & Gain a 125 Year Lease
2012 | Converted from Oil to Gas Heating
2013 | Outside Area Decked and Sauna Installed
2015 | Cycle Hub & Roof Maintenance Walkway Built
2016 | Pool Tank Re-Grouted & Change to all LED Lighting
2018 | WCT becomes Registered Charity No.1174631
2020 | Subsidised Parking Scheme Introduced
